Block Printing Workshop

PLACE: Feel Goods: 317 Taughannock Blvd. Ithaca, NY.

This is a full immersion class where you design and print a tote bag- start to finish. 

What’s included:

• One tote bag
• All of the tools needed to carve your block, including carving tools, linoleum for carving, ink and tools for printing.

We’ll start by talking about how to design a block print (your design image must be inverse so that it prints in the right orientation), a little bit about repeat patterning. We’ll also talk a little bit about the history of block printing and where to find more information on that.

Heidi will walk you through designing your image, transferring it to the linoleum for carving, carving the block and how to use the tools, and finally printing your design on the tote bag.

*Bags will need to dry overnight and be heat set*

*You get to take home your tote bag and finished stamp, the rest of the tools will stay in the workshop space.
